'Plan to enroll' clarification

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Not to mention the "holistic" process as well. The more I spend on here the more it just seems like college admissions all over again except more bias
Yeah, I wasn't even going there. I was just talking about not being entitled to periodic communication or an actual rejection, or fin aid information before being compelled to make a decision, in return for submitting an application and paying all associated fees!

is there a commit to enroll deadline? Is this school specific? If I have one acceptance and 4 wailtilsit. Can I remain PTE for that one school until the cycle closes out?

Yes. Totally check with your school. Each school has its own deadline. Some don't have one at all. If you have one and you miss it, you risk losing your A!!!!

You can remain PTE and stay on your WLs until your CTE deadline, at which time you are supposed to withdraw from WLs. Again, all of this should be explained with your acceptance materials, or on your school's portal. Definitely find out. It could be as early as 4/30, but most are not until June or July.

Has there been any definitive verdict reached regarding how PTEs affect your waitlist viability? I am waitlisted at my top choice and my 2nd choice (where I hold an A) does not require a PTE on the 30th. I'd much rather go by-the-book and PTE tomorrow and simply hope to be called off the waitlist, but I am afraid it will nix my chances of getting that call.

I've seen some debate here and there but am curious as to an ADCOMs perspective.

There is no book for you. If your A school does not require PTE on 4/30, there is no reason to make the selection if you don't want to!

Adcoms will tell you it doesn't matter, because it doesn't. Most people do have to make a PTE selection, and that doesn't stop schools from calling them off WLs. But, you have the freedom to do what you want, since your school does not require PTE tomorrow. Why not take advantage of that if there is any doubt in your mind?
