I am studying out of the Kaplan 2007-2008 DAT prep book and there isn't much of anything on plant biology (leaves, reproduction, roots, etc.) However, I took a practice exam today out of the same Kaplan book and, to my surprise, there was one question about where the spores come from in a plant flower!

So my question is, those who have just taken the DAT or are studying for it now, do we need to know plant biology beyond what is in the Kaplan DAT guide?

yea..i was wondering that too...anyone who took the DAT have some advice? And is the animal biology in the kaplan book sufficient enough?

My advise to you would be to know more about Plant Biology than kaplan covers. I am using Achiever and Destroyer right now and these two books have a lot of information about Biology and sciences in general. I am using them right now and I am already finding out more things that I knew before. They provide you with a great review and at the same time lay out new concepts in a Nut-shell. So far I am very pleased with these 2 study guides.
In my opinion you can never be too careful, the more you know, the safer you are. I have had it before, where the material was on a practice test and kaplan didn’t cover it.
Good luck studying.
