Does anyone know if we need to study Plant Biology? I checked the DAT 2011 Program guide and I didn't know where Plant biology would fit into their study guide for the biology section

--dont think u gotta go in that much detail but yes i think you should review plant bio basics

Thanks molar3, but do you know if we need to know about the different hormones, reproduction, alternations of generations ?? I'm asking this becuase I looked at the sample study guide from datQvault and they had a section just for plant biology.

I don't know the answer to your question. I just wanted to say that I just read through the plant section in barrons ap bio and I wanted to share the fact that I freaking hate plants. ok, only 100 more pages to read/review before I call it a night........maybe I will drink a beer and then try reading it again, maybe somehow the plants will become funny and interesting, seeing as how we will be injecting a plant root into our patients mouth, it's probably imperative that we all know the difference between a bryophytes ass and a seedless tracheophytes mouth.

hmmm i dont know if we need to know it, but i studied it because i saw questions pertaining to those topics in like every practice test i was taking (ie-topscore, dat destroyer, achiver & now datqvault etc) so i assumed i had to know it. i cant rmbr if i saw an actual plant question on my real DAT tho, ive blocked out the memory...

hahahaha omgoddd im @the airport & i figured id pretend to be productive & "study" but reading all this biocrap is making me fall asleep & ill probably miss my flight. 😴
plants are NEVER going to be intresting!!!! i always wondered why we need to study plant stuff and all the diff arthropod/annelid/stuff...i dont see how its relevant but w/e i guess

lmao... I swear I came here JUST TO TYPE that

There is a chapter on Cliff's AP thats dedicated to all plants (hormones and all that other stuffs). I read that chapter 48 hours before my test because.... that chapter was too dry and dull that no matter how many times I read it, i always forgot it shortly afterwards. So I saved its final preparations for right before the test.

I would recommend a very brief study of this boraphyll material. I had maybe 3 questions about plants on my DAT 2 years ago and they were almost common sense.
