So I have the old 2nd edition of the Kaplan book, and Ive been studying out of it.

Today I decided to compare it with the new Kaplan 2007-2008 book at the bookstore. I scanned/compared the older edition with the newer edition page by page, and discovered that alot of important plant material (pretty much all of it), was excluded from the NEWER edition.

I was SURPRISED to find that the newer edition has less information.

Does it mean that plant material is not really covered on DAT anymore?

or

Has Kaplan made a horrible mistake?

What should I do?!

You shouldn't depend only on Kaplan. I think you should study from other sources also, and you must study the plants section into details. Good Luck.

I just took the Kaplan course and the book has not changed in 4 years. I compared it with my wife's Kaplan book from 2002 and they are the same. Like the above poster DO NOT DEPEND on Kaplan book for the Bio section.

Ill take you guys word for it..... Ill study the plant stuff... However its really wierd that the Kaplan 2007-2008 edition at my local Borders excluded the plant stuff..... Thanks people

I've also noticed the absence of a plants section in the Kaplan Book. I've supplemented it with the section in Cliff's AP Biology.

What kind of detail is requisite in this section for the DAT?

there is no way you can ignore from plant biology, this is the basics. you should know it. buy the DAT desteroyer it will help you to realize what you expected to know for the bio section, and for the other sections as well. the destroyer is a must for every DAT taker !!!!!
