You have to take the MCAT before September of the year you apply (earlier the better). So if you are looking to enroll in fall 2004, you should be applying next cycle and should prep to take the MCAT within the next year. I would take the January MCAT so you have enough time to retake if necessary and will be able to send your application in complete as early as possible.

Check out some of the stickies on this forum for studying tactics/methods. I used Examkrackers (very good basic review) and Berekely Review (considered the best review but found it way too detailed) as well as the official AAMC materials.

You should plan for your application to be in as early as possible. The system opens the first week of June. If you can get it in then, that's awesome but it's not really that huge of a disadvantage if you send it out slightly later. It usually takes a month or so for AMCAS to verify your application which is why it's preferred to send it in early in the cycle.

Good luck!
