Hey guys,
I did a search on this but so many different/vague answers came up, so I'm looking for personal experiences.

1. Which schools did not take your AP credit?

2. Which schools require you to send in your grades from the AP exams?

3. Hows life?

Um i know NOVA requires you to send in your AP test scores

I included AP test scores on my AADSAS coursework, but I ended up retaking the science ones that I got credit for anyway in college, like general Chemistry. I heard that that was better, since most schools like to see you actually take the course at truly the college level. I used my other scores, such as a poli-sci credit and an english credit, to fulfill some of my general req's for my degree. Of the 5 schools that I was accepted to, none of them asked me about my AP credits (VCU, Case, NYU, PENN, UCLA).

I know that Tufts does not accept AP credit, at least for the science courses. They counted two of my upper level bio classes - Biology 400 (vertebrate functional morphology) and 475(entomology) as my 2 biology with lab classes. Of course I only found this out at the interview when she informed me my Bio2 was "in progress'' last semester. I still got in though 🙂

I had tons of AP credit and was never asked to retake or to send scores.

I have interviewed at several dental schools and none of them had trouble with my AP. About Tufts not accepting science AP, I interviewed there and I don't have science AP but they accepted my Calculus, English Lit, Economics and History AP scores so...

I got an interview at Tufts and I had 31 AP credits including Biology and Chemistry. I sent my scores to all the schools I applied to after asking them if they were required. I remember not applying to the University of Colorado because they wouldn't accept my AP scores but all the other schools I applied to didn't have a problem.

**On Tufts website it says that if you took AP credits in the sciences you need to take an equal number of upper division science classes in that subject area. I was a Biology major, Chemistry minor so I met that requirement.**

I was told that I needed a college letter grade for all the dental prerequisites. For me this meant taking a year of physics that I placed out of with AP credits.

I called each school individually that I wanted to apply to and asked their EXACT requirements. I think you will have the most success by doing that since each school may only take certain courses, all courses, no courses, need the scores, don't need the scores, need the credits to show up on your transcript etc.....

Would you guys mind telling me which schools these were?

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I had to send my AP scores to:

UMN
UMich
Buffalo
NYU
USC
Temple
Creighton
Iowa
ASDOH
Tufts
Marquette
UOP
Nova

...which is everywhere I applied.

Strange. Because I applied to some of those schools but was never asked to send anything about my AP credits.

I called each one of them and asked if they wanted my scores and they said yes. One school (UMN) said they would only need the scores once I was accepted... I guess it doesn't hurt to just send them... kind of a pain since you have to pay for it though. Best bet is to just call and ask yourself.

I just did.

If your AP credit is already listed on your college transcript, there's no need to send them again.

Also, didn't AADSAS say that you only need to send in transcript/score for post secondary institutions that you attended?

Jiga is right. If your AP class is on your college transcript then you don't need to send it. I was never asked for a high school transcript showing my AP classes or AP Scores themselves.

Did you transcript say "AP" or "BE" or what?
Mine just says BE= by exam

Um i don't think this is true... I have my AP score on my university transcripts and NOVA still wants the Official AP Scores...... which are a pain in the *** to get btw.... they are archived after 4 years so basically it is going to take an act of God to get me those damn scores

It lists advance placement as the category and then lists the equivalent course at my university.

Why would they want something...

1. Isn't graded.
2. Happens in highschool.
3. Have no whatsoever impact on your application.

...?

It just doesn't make sense.

The reason I had to send them was because my college transcript only listed the number of credits I got from AP, NOT the courses they counted for. My undergraduate college must just suck...

It looked like this:

Transfer credits from AP: 31.00

And said NOTHING about what courses they would count for.

I had to send my scores to show what tests I actually took. Sorry for the confusion.
