Hello everyone,
I am really confused about when to take MCAT.
I am entering in my Junior Year and I am planning to take
MCAT in January. Is it early or it's right time?
Please give your comments.
I really Appreciate.

Thank You.

You will want to apply in June at the end of your junior, so January seems really good. I just took mine August 5th, and will be applying this coming June, but January is just as good. You can just study you ass off all winter break and take it at the end of january at the start of the spring semester, and you should be able to kill it. If you don't do as well as you want, January will also give you time to re-take too.

Only you know what time is the right time for you. Whenever you feel that you can take the test and do well is the right time.

Personally I think all times before May are great, because if you need to retake the timing won't be the death of your application. So it looks like your covered on that front.

I'm in the same situation. I've given it a lot of thought and decided to take the MCAT in June (the same month I'll be sending off applications). Is this a bad idea? Everyone I've asked has said that med schools will consider you (send secondaries, etc) before they actually receive your MCAT score. So I plan to complete AMCAS in early June (as early as possible). If I plan to the take the MCAT in late June, my scores will be sent in late July. Anyone see this as a problem? I'd take the test in January or April, but I feel like I might need the extra time to study

I'm going to be taking it on May 22nd because I don't finish my prerequisites until May 15th. If I had the prerequisites done already, I would probably have taken it sooner so that the schools would have my scores sooner and so that I could have time to retake if necessary (although I'm really planning just to take it once).

Don't take it too late into the summer, because it can get HOT. You'll be sweating and so will everyone else.
