How would you guys compare the following (in no particular order!) ?
Beth Israel
Pitt
U of Chicago
Michigan
Washington U St. Louis
Columbia
Cornell
NYU
Yale
Dartmouth
Emory
Penn State
Georgetown
Maryland
UWash (seattle)
I feel like this is where I stand:
TOP PICK: BID, Pitt, Michigan, Wash U, UChicago, Cornell, Columbia, Emory
bottom pick: Uwash, Yale, Dartmouth, Penn State, Georgetown, Maryland, NYU
but I can't put any order to my top pick schools!
I love boston, pittsburgh, chicago, and new york.
--but new york is too expensive, is the cost there really worth the training I would get in NYC? Or can I get comparable training at the other program while living within my means somehwhere else?
--WashU was a great program but I don't think I want to move to St. Louis, as far as my future is concerned is it worth going their just for the reputation of the program and its training despite being away from family?
--I really loved BID but am afraid that it is not as reputable at MGH or the Brigham, is this something that I am making an issue in my head? I just want to get a fellowship somewhere in the future and i don't want to be excluded from fellowship spots because I didn't go to MGH or the Brigham.
--I love Chicago the city, but the dinner made me feel like I didn't really fit in.
--PITT, amazinggg but i rather live in boston
--Michigan--also amazinggg---but Ann Arbor is not a tempting place to move to.
I have no idea how to decide this! I wish I didn't have so many choices. I know ultimately it is up to me, but if any of you can provide some input about any of these programs or give me some advice to help me think clearly, that would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks everyone.🙂
