So,
I just wanted to clear up this Barry - beach - Miami thing everyone seems to be talking about...I'm a BMS student at Barry and will most likely be attending Barry's podiatry program next year...yeah it's nice weather but
when it's time to study, you should be able to get work done...I'd personally rather surround myself with a more comfortable/pleasant environment than say a super stellar academic backround - yeah, sounds pretty lame to some of you true scholars but I appreciate that kind of thing, some people don't mind much and can adapt to anything...I'd chose Barry
if environment outweighs academics for you...
As for academics at Barry -- in my opinion (not fact, opinion)...Barry isn't a top tier of school from what I've heard..I've talked to some students, some new hip podiatrists (not older ones-- things have changed) ... I also had the priveledge of speaking to residency directors that haved stated similar things, they also, however, said that Barry's strengths lie in the clinical aspect of the education (as mentioned earlier)...and said if I really wanted to be a good podiatrist, I could do it at any school...
I personally, didn't do too hot in undergrad so Barry was a good option for me, my girlfriend is down here too so -- well it makes sense for me on many levels... (but if things were different, I'd try to go to Scholl!
🙂)
BUT --
Weigh it out, I don't see it as being
just 4 years -- it's 4years of life as a student! You won't get that back no matter what!
So for whatever it means for you...Succeed, of course -- but I say...don't underestimate at least TRYing to set yourself up so that you are comfortable and happy while you're at it!
Good Luck
👍
