Hey all--
Thought that I would post a message again...I am interviewing at DMU this Friday, and am getting really nervous!!!! If anyone has interviewed there, woulf you please post how long your interview was, how many people, did they ask any ETHICAL questions, did they have your file with them in the room?
Thanks for your help!

Don't worry too much about the interview. Just relax and answer each question the best you can. My interview was exactly 30 mins. It was an open file interview, thus 90% of the questions were about me. There was one ethical question. From all my interviews, there were 3 most asked questions: 1)tell me about yourself, 2)why DO, 3) Why (school)?

Good luck!!!!

One thing about DMU, the students are very very nice!

hey ctbmc,

thanks for saying that about the dmu students. one of the reasons i chose dmu was because of the friendly atmosphere the students' supplied. hopefully i met you while you were here on your interview. anywho, thanks for the sweet comment.

There were three people that interviewed me 2 years ago: one biochemistry professor, one second year student, and one other faculty member whose title I can't recall.

They were very respectful and friendly. They wanted to know why osteopathic medicine. They asked how I feel about touch.

I don't recall if there were any ethical questions, but if there are any, they are looking at your critical thinking, not for one possible correct answer.

The inteviewers were quiet, respectful, and low key. They just wanted to get to know me. There were no surprising questions. They didn't probe, nor necessarily give a lot of obvious feedback, but I felt I did well.

It was open-file.

If you want a friendly atmosphere, you are definitely interviewing at the right school.

Please do not be nervous. Be relaxed. That is the best thing you can do for yourself. Show them that you are the qualified person they see on paper, and that there are no inconsistencies.

I got notified of acceptance by letter in about 3-4 weeks. They'll tell you an approximate date to expect a response.

Good luck!
