Hi

I did terrible on the MCAT (22Q) 4V 8PS 10BS. I think I had bubbling errors on the verbal section, because I noticed bubbbling errors on my scantron on the day of the test. I thought I corrected all of them but I am not 100% sure because of the lack of time. Well, I'm a biology major with a math/science gpa of 3.91 and overall gpa of about 3.9. I want to apply to some osteopathic schools too. What should I do? Thanks.

I think you will need to take the MCAT again, even for the DO schools. How were you doing on your verbal practice tests? If it was good, then you are not in bad shape and can improve your score hugely if you retake in August. I would sign up immediately and start prepping as soon as you can...Because that 4 is gonna be tough. You can do it though...Trust me! 🙂

Hi

I was doing 7-9 on the verbal.

Retake it. if you had like a 7 7 8 it would be a lot better buyt a 4 on any section is going to be really hard to overcome. And if you can get an interview...it's going to come up. "My scan strong had bubbling errors," isn't going to fly.

I got a 7 on Verbal and got accepted. My friend made a 4 on verbal (language barrier) and got accepted to KCUMB. I would apply with your stats and see if you can get interviews.

Your score does not look bad. I've heard people who got 3 on verbal got into a DO school. Plus you have very good GPA. I feel that you will have at least 80% chance to get in if you applied to all DO schools.

Hi

I think I will retake the MCAt and apply to all the schools, plus retake the MCAT.

Isn't it funny you get a 4 on VR and a Q on WS? Last time I took the MCAT, I got a 10VR and N WS. WS is ******ed.

I agree, WS is bogus and a complete waste of time. I tried hard and answered the questions completely on my WS and I had a 12 on VR but scored in the 50% on WS, whatever stupid random letter designation that is.

To the OP: please be wary about listening to these miracle stories of people getting in with ridiculous low MCAT scores. If you look into medical school admissions you will see the odds of that being true or happening for you, especially without having English as a second language as an excuse. You have time until August and should subject yourself to the lowest and darkest level of hell once more that is the MCAT, only this time, study hard. You will still be able to apply this year. All you have to lose is a couple hundred bucks and a couple months of your life rather than a whole year and all the application fees, i.e. thousands of dollars. Good luck
