I need help with POst Bacc Please Help
Hello, I think I posted this in the wrong area.
So here is the deal. I start my MPH in less than a month. I want my MPH because I totally need to boost my undergrad GPA. However, my program is only one year and a quarter. So I want to start looking for post bac programs that are very structured.
My questions are: should i start taking science classes on the side or should i just wait till I start the post bac programs? Also, when should I apply? I have to complete a 400 hour internship so I want to know if there are any programs that admit by semester or quarter?
Any tips on who has the most structured programs?
Thank you so much.
ALSO I am living in CA right now but went to school on the east coast, but I have no problem on moving. Is it true putting CA as your residency is a pro or con?
Thanks

I don't know too much but I don't think that an MPH will help your undergraduate GPA. It will give you a separate graduate GPA which could actually turn out to be more beneficial. I'm also not sure if a CA residence will hurt/help you any. I cannot imagine that it would ever hurt you though. Sorry if I'm not too helpful. I did a post bacc program at MCV in Richmond, VA. Let me know if you have any questions regarding that. It was pretty structured so it might be something for you to look into.

Hello
What does MVC stand for? (Sorry for my ignorance)
Is it very structured?
Thank you

Oh sorry about that. It stands for Medical College of Virginia...It's in downtown Richmond, VA. Yeah it's pretty structured and their program gives you the option of doing an additional year and getting a Master's Degree. It's not bad for those applying to med school after completing the post-bacc year because it gives you something productive to do during the application process.

What do you get your masters in?

Master's in Physiology

There are 6 different departments and you can essentially apply to any of them. I chose to do physiology - I think it's the most interesting and most applicable to med school.
