hello everyone, can anyone tell me what i should do about applying for the 2005 match, i am an IMG(US Citizen) have passed my step1 first attempt with 80 % and will be taking the step2 ck and cs in end of NOV. do you think i should go ahead and apply now for ERAS or wait until i get my step 2 scores?? please help i know i have to do really good in step2 that is why i am taking a little bit longer to take the step2's pls can anyone help please.....

:scared:

It all depends on what field your going into. If it's competitive and being an IMG with an 80%, you should have already taken step 2. You need those scores back before the first wave of interviews to improve your odds. If you don't take the test till November your scores wont be back till Dec/Jan. Programs will only have your Step 1 score with the possibility of you failing CK or CS. They are less likely to interview IMG's without solid Step 1 scores and no step 2. FP and IM...you should be OK, but still at a disadvantage. Still apply EARLY, there may be other areas in your application they find attractive. Good luck (I'm aslo AIMG)

i am interested in Internal medicine, i don't know if i should take a chance to apply now with this score in step1 or just wait untill the post match? or apply in late december, i know i will do good in step2 ck and cs cause i have very strong clinical experince and i am doing good in the Qbanks etc etc. would i be just wasting money for applying for all the programs cause of my low probability or is it worth it? if i apply post match what are my chances of matching? i think IM is not very compatative, i am willing to work anywhere it doesn't have to be a compatitive progarm. last year there had been so many unfilled slots in IM. What do you guys think? pls comment 🙁
Thanking you in advance for your help guys, you guys are great 👍

If you don't care where you go, then you can certainly find a spot somewhere outside the match + scramble. It may save you $500-1000
