Dear friends
I recently started my internship in OB/GYN.I actually finshed OB/GYN residency back in my country and worked there for a couple of years.I strted the USMLE's here in US and with sores 211/247 I matched to a program in california,The program is university and they ahve several fellowship.I am really intersted in infertility endocrine but our program doesnt have fellow shio for that.There is one faculty for infertility who works in this field but is not that feindly and disappointed one of the other residents who asked to help how he can increase his chance of getting in to infertility.
I have 3 different questions.Fist of all :I am now 40 and I dont know if I have enough time to go for fellow ship.It is really what I am really interested.but I dont know if I have any job oppprtunity by the time I finish at that time I will be arround 47.
My next question is if I can go to this felloship without hurting my future opportunity to work.what is my chances and how I can increase my chances of getting to program for fellow ship?Is step 3 scores really important for fellowship?As far as I heard Creog exams scores are important.
Please help.I feel really desperate.Some times I feel depressed since I think that I am far behind.Of course that I have workd in OB/GYn in my country fro 5 years and worked also in IVF department for 1 year as a volunteer.
I dont know what to do?It is really fristrating for me when I think that I am an intern and just started.It feels like I burned my at least 15 years.
my last w=question is how is the job market for OB/GYN like me and in my situation and my age?
