Im taking Step 2 in 4 days. Step 1 was good. I am applying to internal medicine. I hope to match my Step 2 but my score on a recent NBME was 210 and my motivation hit a low after that. My UWSA 3 weeks ago was 232. My preparation hasn't been great and I've only gotten through 1/2 the material I wanted to.

Bottom line: do I take it in 4 days or hold off and take it when Im ready?

Im looking to apply to fellowships when Im done and I don't want to make a 210 on the real thing and get screwed.

Many people have said to just take it but I don't want to screw myself.

Please help! I'm eternally grateful to anyone with good advice! thank you!

Which NBME did you take? NBME's 4, 6 and UWSA are supposed to be the best.

Highly doubt step 2 score will matter for fellowship.

A UWSA 3 weeks ago at 232 doesn't sound that bad. I imagine it'll be higher than that if you've studied the past 3 weeks. All this being said, you aren't at any stringent deadline times right now so you could focus on getting through all of the material you wanted to get through and take it then. You have to decide whether you want to take more time or you want to have a guaranteed score in hand for whenever you go on interviews. You may be able to do both depending on timing of your interviews.
