I need help with a topic for my essay in my English 2020 class. Our teacher wants us to write a 5 page paper over a current national or international event that also relates to our career choice. It is due April 29, but I can't seem to find anything about veterinary events that the world is talking about. Any feedback would be greatly helpful. Thank you so very much =]

it kinda has to be like a potential problem and solution to current issues within that field of interest. If that makes any sense and has to be 5 pages long keep that in mind as well and we have to be able to find a book to help with those problems. Like for example the air ports have low security and heavy planes making them use more gas so a solution would be decrease the entertainment in the planes and use the extra money to make the security systems more advanced and safer for us. I hope that helps if now I can find another example.

Agreed. Others, the culling of entire herds of cattle, sheep, and pigs because of hoof and mouth or mad cow disease.

Thank you for the help with the topics I didn't know there was anything like that going on in the Vet field. And for those who think this was purely homework I believe I need an apology because this is more of my personal interest because if I didn't want to know more about this career field then I would not have joined this fourm. I am trying to be nice about this. Next time check fully into why someone posted something instead of chewing their tail right off the bat and further more there are SEVERAL other posts about nothing but homework and spam that don't even relate to the site, so at least I did use it for MY OWN personal interest but also included school a little yes but mainly ME! Yea but if that was the only reason I got on here then why am I still here? Have you not noticed that there is not a real big issue in this career field that is popularly known! I was curious of all the different things that are involved with this career that is not being said in newspapers or even on the news. I'm sorry if it sounded like that was my only purpose but it wasn't, like I pointed out earlier. I'm not going to explain myself completely because its really none of your business and its personal. So I am saying my sorry for it seeming like I was using this site fully for homework, I promise you that I am not. I am glad I found a site that is about something I am very interested in and I really would hate to have to delete my account or get kicked out over some stupid misunderstanding because of time and other issues.

The pre-vet forum is a good place to go if you have vet-specific questions. It looked to me like you were just asking for help on a paper. Everyone that asks for help with assignments gets the same line: "SDN is not for help with your homework". Don't take it personally.

The pre-vet forum is a good place to go if you have vet-specific questions. It looked to me like you were just asking for help on a paper. Everyone that asks for help with assignments gets the same line: "SDN is not for help with your homework". Don't take it personally.

There is sooo much going on right now in Veterinary studies. Rather than ask for a topic you should think of something you're interested in and start researching that specifically. Again, you should be looking through the Vet forum.

Academic intergrity is vital; but there has to be a way to help and support learning without compromising things.

You want to talk about non-trad related issues and sharpen your ideas to a point that might be suitable for use elsewhere? Awesome. Let's do that all day long. Read back through the OP and tell me whether it fits that conceptual framework. It sounds like something my 13-yr old neice would say. If you want a conversation, then start one. Yep. Can't afford to discuss anything all day. I am barely keeping my head above water with all the crap I have going on. And working FT OS/rotating within same week whilst taking full-time credits with all this other stuff in my isn't easy. Trying to keep the whole 4.0 thing is a lot of stress in light of everything else. OTOH, life could be a lot worse. I could be on the northern coast of Japan. Fuskishima is the new Chernobyl and due the run of horrendous things that have been occuring on the 11th of months, 11 is the new 13.

I don't think it's an issue of intellectual property as much as it is an issue of flooding this place with pre-health students posting their homework problems. There are plenty of ways for resourceful students to get help on campus for homework but not all students have access to good pre-health/graduate school/career advice. That's what the main role of SDN should be, in addition to networking with other health professionals (and also hooking up)

I was tempted to help the OP but felt like she hadn't really tried on her own. I don't want to encourage laziness in our future health-professionals.

My comment was about a military approach on the board. It was a joke.

Besides, actually marines are a separate service within the dept of navy, and the two are under one authority, with, if you can imagine, their own separate chains of command.

Whatever. I still love the marines; b/c my father loved them, and they were so awesome and supportive during his illness and funeral. They are truly a brotherhood.

But boy my dad, as wonderful as he was, could be strict; yet he wasn't a hard azz. He was a pretty good combo, and he never tripped out on authority, which was cool.

I agree that the original post sounded like someone who didn't want to do the work and thought that we would do it for her. However, after I read the post, I thought that the OP might simply not understand how the vet and physician fields were related, so I gave her a 1 sentence reply that took my all of 15 seconds to write, but was sufficient for her to begin research.

Her reply, however, dismissing my suggestion without researching it, showed me that she was not a serious poster and Pons assessment was accurate in the first place.

I agree. Wasn't trying to call you out, but it was the response to your post that got my hackles up. At that point, it wasn't a conversation; it was tutoring.

Can we just all send serious good luck vibes to the pre-vet student who had the insight to post in the non-trad pre-med forum asking for vet essay topics instead of posting in the pre-vet forum? This specific forum probably knows more about vet topics than anywhere else and the ship was sailed in the appropriate direction, obviously.
