IBT - Is that the "Illinois Baking Test"? If so, I've got something for you. Its this book called Betty Krocker's Baking Book, Illinois Edition. It worked great for me, and I'm sure it would help you out!

Am new to the site & have written my toefl ibt,got an 105,here are the links to some free practice tests,make a poit to take the speaking tests,u can record ur self & then get some one to listen 2 u & tell u what mistakes u do,the rest is easy,best of luck....
After you have downloaded 1 file u will have to wait for 3-4 hours before u can download another file. So do it as soon as possible.

U al can download a free test at www.argor.us. other good stuff are also there at this website.

After that do the following:

1. Extract file1 using WinRAR (u can download it from internet at :www.rarlab.com ). As it gets extracted , a dialog box will appear asking for the next files.Select the browse button in the dialog box and then select file 2.Press ok. part 2 will get extracted.This will be repeated till part4 is extracted.

3.Now u will see a folder titled"TOEFL Longman iBT". Inside this folder there will b a file called "install".click on it and u will b guided through rest of the installation.

Once the installation is complete u can launch the program from the program menu in windows. On the main menu u will see mini-tests , complete tests etc..There should be 8 mini tests and 2 complete tests.

I apologize, I did not intend to be rude....but that was really not such a good answer on your part......iBT is internet Based Toefl and I guess everybody knows it....it was just so upsetting to read your reply....

I still think it should be called the "Illinois Baking Test". I just really like baked goods. They are delicious.

Yeah, u can start that but mind you it would have to be IBT and not iBT becaue the second one with lower case "i" has already been registered by TOEFL guys😀 :meanie: :laugh:

I tried that... after downloading all the files and extracting and installing... when i tried opening it up, it said path not found. Uh... my toefl is today.
 
Hey all the best be calm and try to be faster than the rest if there are a lot of candidates taking the test simultaneouly(as the speaking section ends up being annoying or amusing-depending on your state of mind)I hope you wentthrough the practice test.
Hey JAYBE your SOH(incase ur imagination runs riot again i'll interpret that as sense of humor) is no doubt as good as bettys bakes!

u'll have to download somefile which is present in the links,have to ask my husband the details & will e-mail u guys.Hope @ least someone was able to open the tests...........
 
I just wrote toefl yesterday... i must say it is not as easy at it may seem... especially the reading part was tuff... they has so many passages to read and the time limit was so constricting... though in practice sessions i was able to complete 20 mint task in 10 mints flat but reading in the test was actually very confusing... and choices were so close to each other... really hard to make out the difference. I read so many books for preparation... books for preparation along with CDs... i must say the most helpful was LONGMAN's ... it most closely simulates the actual test. I just bought that book three days before test... wish i had bought long back.

If anybody wants that book from me... they can private messege me. Trust me it is the best... especially practice test on CDs are worth every penny.

how about writing?🙄 can you give me some advices??😱
 
I guess writing is the easiest to sit through as we have plenty of time on hand... i finished my task of 20 minutes in 10 minutes. But the topic may be very silly to write on. So the marking part was not in my hand. I just did what i could. Dont bother about writing... just read editorials... and practice writing for the tasks given in books.

Even i couldnt open the link given... i wasted one day downloading that stuff but at the end of day when i thought i am ready to go it said couldnt find the source. So that is why i went ahead and bought that book... i think i did the right thing.

Some people have been able to open & use the tests,the links r still active. am sorry if u could not open the links.
 
the links are good.. they do open..the first time i spent a day downloading and by the end of the day, nothing fruitful.. as winnipeg says. .. so i asked my husband to do it..spend some time doing it.. if you are not good in using the comp.. ask someone who is.. they are the closest to the actual exam.. simple english nothing u don't already know.. just practice a couple of tests before the test.. one mistake i made .. i had my test at 6 0' clock in the evening.. did not rest during the day.. go rested as its long, 4 hrs.. rest shd be fine.
 
can anybody tell which is best book for toefl ibt. their are so many in market like longman, barrons, kaplan, princeton ..... i am confused which one i should buy. please advice

I just downloaded it and it works... if they said can't recognized the path... try to burn the file to cd and put it on your cd drive or you can use a virtual cd software to create a cd drive on your HD.
