i'm trying to explain a point in my personal statement, but i can't find a way to do it well.

the statement is: "Medicine is not all about self-preservation. That is, medicine treats not only the patient, it provides cure for the patient?s family, ambition, and future."

i don't think i am explaining this well. im trying to say...for example...a patient has back pain...so medicine is not only treating the back pain...but treating an individual who has a family to support, ambition to fulfill, etc.

please...can someone reword my quotation above to make it more clear....thanks so much!!!

Try writing the whole thing out, as long as it takes. Mine was 4 pages. So then I took out the fluff, and left the imprtant stuff. 5100 characters or so when I was done.
