I heard some UCs don't accept it. Who else?

I'd also like to know if anyone has heard this...?

I wasn't planning on using interfolio for 2009, but do some schools prefer it over just giving your LOR writer an addressed envelope?

I doubt schools would prefer it, but it does make it alot more conveinient for your letter writers

UCs do accept interfolio. I applied to all the UCs and didn't have a problem with any except for UCSF. They asked that I have Interfolio send it to my school's letter service and have them send UCSF a copy. I know lots of other folks who applied to UCSF who sent via Interfolio and did not have this problem. Odd.

Don't sweat interfolio. I applied to 37 schools and aside from UCSF's weird request, every school took them. Many don't accept the emailed version, but I don't know any schools who do not accept the hard copy option.

I don't think that any school doesn't accept interfolio at all. Many will not accept the electronic delivery option but all schools that I know of will accept the mail delivery versions.

That's only a valid option if you're only applying to one medical school. Most folks apply to 10-15 schools. You can't give a professor 15 stamped envelopes and ask him/her to print multiple copies.

Your options are your school's letter service or a service like Interfolio. I found Interfolio to be far cheaper and more dependable that most schools' services. Lots of horror stories there, very few hiccups with Interfolio.

How does your recommendor 'sign' his letter if he's uploading it electronically? If there's no signature, will schools still accept it?

Interfolio has a 'fax2sig' form that they can fill out to get an image of their signature. Or, if they're more computer savvy, they can just scan in an image of their signature and put it into the document.

this is reviving old thread but i have similar question,

how do you know if the letter writer uploaded the letter electronically or mailed it to interfolio?
because if he uploaded the letter electronically, there wont be a written signature so does that mean I can't snail mail the letter to school?

no, it doesn't matter if the letter was uploaded/mailed. you can send either way to schools.

i have no idea how my letters were submitted, but interfolio sent them electronically and snail mail when necessary.
