Biochem lab is going to make me cry, because I failing the lab reports and somehow a lot of people are doing well. Also, the professor told me that she usually doesn't fail people from this class, but a student who took this class before told me that she failed three people from that class. I am graduating this semester and if I don't pass this class I have to come back to school next semester. The problem is that I am going to get finanacial aid, and as an out of stater I can't pay the tuition with out loan and with out my scholarship ( half tuition).
There is only one final lab report ( worth 100 points) and a presentation ( 50 points). I could work hard and get above an 80 on the final and do well on the presentation, but I am just scared. I usually try not show my weakness, but now I am really scared.😳
HELP me with your kind words fellow SDNers😳

Hmm, I had a friend who was failing a science class during senior year of undergrad. He had already been accepted to a professional school. He went to talk to the head of the science dep't. She (the head) didn't allow the professor to fail the student.

are you friends with anyone in the class who is doing well? i would tell them what is going on and see if they can help you out. then, kick it on the presentation. see if you can get any insight on good presentations from last year.

:luck: :luck: :luck:

Firstly, are you only taking this course because you are in biochem??

Anyway, I don't know how the TAs or profs evaluate your reports; but I would say, find out how you can improve your reports and go from there. Usually, the difference between a poor and a well written lab report is the quality of references. I prefer using pubmed as a source in explaining results as you can easily find similar experiments (sometimes the exact same) that one performs in a lab course. Keep in mind, you should talk about why things went wrong too in a scientific and logical manner. That's how I usually go about things, hoping things work out for you!

talk things out with the professor, she might bump you up a few points just to keep you from failing if you're lucky

Thanks
I am going to talk to the TA now, and later to my lab partner who is only doing just a little better than me.
