Good morning.

I have a quick question regarding what classes to take this spring. I am beginning my graduate level biology coursework this spring but also need to take the second semester of physics again because I received a D in my second semester senior year (lecture only, received a B+ in lab). Partying will catch up with you, obviously.

My question is, should I re-take the physics course this spring so the new grade will appear on my transcript I send out in May or should I focus more on the upper level biology courses and take the physics class later? Which one do you think will hold more value to my applicaiton?

Also, I plan on applying first thing in May, but continue taking bio classes through the summer and fall. Many schools only have one, maybe 2 updates on the AADSAS application so how am I supposed to let them know that these classes are being taken and my performance in them?

Any responses would help! Thanks in advance everyone.

More info please. What upper levels do you already have and what is your gpa?

I have taken all my prereqs, and a few biological psychology courses but that's it. I am just starting to take upper level science courses as I graduated with a degree in Finance.

My GPA is a 3.0/2.9 BCP

The low gpa will make things difficult but if you truly want to become a dentist then it is within reach. My advice would be not to apply for 2009, but take upper level sciences starting this spring with a re-take of physics. Your goal must be to get As and lots of them. By delaying your application to 2010 you will allow yourself ample time to build a resume of difficult course similar to those taken during the 1st and 2nd years of dental school. Providing proof to the admissions committee that you can handle dental school. In addition you will need to begin or continue adding to your dental experience and volunteer portion of the application. Take the DAT with solid scores across the board. Get to know your professors in order to get good LORs from them. Take part in research if the opportunity presents itself. Like I said before if you want this to happen you can make it happen. It will take some hard work and determination but the goal is within reach.

Good Luck!:luck::luck:
