Hello guys, I've got probably the weirdest question. My situation is quite uncommon. I'm currently 6weeks away from graduating with a Master's in psychology...with a solid GPA. I had my BSc in biology with the intentions of going to medschool...but, my GPA was horrible. I deserve all the blame for being stupid at that time. But now, I'm older and wiser and still want to give medschool a shot.I'm more financially stable and able to focus on my studies now. I'm thinking of going to get another bachelor's maybe in chemistry, maths, or physics and also taking the prereqs required for medschool. Does anyone think it's possible for medschools to consider me as a worthwhile candidate if I do well in my second bachelor's ????

Situation is not very uncommon. I would look at the nontraditional forums. There are programs out there to take all of your prereqs for medical school. I would find one and ace it. How low a GPA are we talking? Might be pretty challenging to overcome a 2.0, but some places will take a deeper look at your graduate degree performance and the prereqs. A second bachelors degree would be a huge waste of time and money.

Thx for ur timely reply ...Undergrad gpa of 2.7 , but grad gpa of 3.7 plus strong involvement in extracurricular activities. Do u have any ideas or any names of such programs/places where prereqs can be taken ?? I agree with you, another bachelor's will be a waste of time and money.

You should post on WAMC. Lots of good advice to go around there

You can take your prerequisites anywhere. Get everything else in line with your application and assuming you have a decent science GPA (I'm assuming you didn't take too many science classes the first go-around) may be able to get by with something over 3.0 as a cummulative. There are a lot of factors, though, so I speak very generally.
