Hi folks
I am new to this forum and found it very useful. I did NBDE-I with 93 and I am preparing for part II. I have 2001 decks. There are few things that I want to know.
1)Is there any significant difference between 2001 decks and later editions? as for part-I I studied 2001 decks and my friends told me that I should have red recent one.
2)Secondly, any supplemental books or study aid apart from decks and papers? esp for pharma, perio and prostho.
I just started part II study and will appreciate any advice or tips. I am planing to take it in Dec.
Regards.

well im in the exact same position...

i guess i'll stick to the 2001 decks and try to get my hand on the past papers, not in the mood to study, i guess i lost my touch...

my friend studied the same material and got 90

what r u planning on doing next?

Hi guys,

Can I ask how long it will take for part2 preparation? say like 4-months (10 hrs/day) is enough?

Hi
Depends upon you. If you are a fresh grad or have red text books recently you can go through decks in a month otherwise it can take any length of time. For part-I I just studied decks and it took one month, but I had done fellowship part-I from Pakistan, which is also from basic sciences. For part-II I feel that I shoud read books atleast for perio and pharama and as I heard that a major portion comprises these subjects.
I know its little late to apply for advance standing, but I would like to try my luck at few places as soon as I get my course-by-course ECE. Any suggestions regarding applications or part-II prep are welcome.
P.S how good are the chances of getting residency in US that can lead to licence, for some one who has done one and a half year fellowship training in Pakistan.
Regards
