I have a quick question-- if anyone might be able to answer, from experience...
I am currently working in a situation where I am working as an "Independant Contractor" in a non-Physician's practice where there are PT's, Nutritionist etc. I am doing general, outpatient, musculoskeletal medicine, basic joint injections, EMG's etc. -- this is a non-traditional locum tenems position, for 3 months-- I'm covering for a Sports Medicine FP doc that is on medical leave. The contract asks the Independant Contractor (ME) to supply their own Worker's Comp insurance. I am in the State of California. Does anyone have experience with this? Is this customary when working as an Independant Contractor-- I know some of my collegues here have worked as IC doing mobile EMG/NCS -- did you need to have such coverage? Maybe my own personal medical insurance would cover this?
Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks
