This is amusing:

From PNWU's secondary:
A letter of recommendation from each of the following:
o A physician (preferably a D.O. who is a member of the AOA)
o A science faculty member who is familiar with the applicant’s under graduate academic work; and
o A pre-medical source (a pre-med advisor or commitee).

From UW's advising site:
Some medical schools will request a letter from a premedical committee or a premedical advising letter. The UW provides neither of these, and this is not a problem. All medical schools will accept letters of recommendation as described above.

There are phones in Yakima, no? I don't think any WA schools have a committee. At least WSU has premed advisors...

You would think that a big powerhouse school like UW would have someone to advise their alum on some of the most important decisions in their life?

UW has advisers, and one that's dedicated to pre-health. She mails out notices when there are events. And the premed advising web page was updated this year! (What? The MCAT's offered more than twice a year now?) But there's no way they'd do letters for students. There have to be 2500 active prehealth students there, not counting alumni, and it's nobody's job to know them. UW is great in lots of ways, but not if you need somebody (faculty or staff) to know you.

But that's not the amusing part. What's amusing is that PNWU's biggest-by-far feeder univ. doesn't support PNWU's letter requirement. That's like a school in Flint MI telling new students they have to drive Toyotas.
