I think I'll get books instead of iPod touch with apps depending on how many pocket books I'll need to carry around in my white coat pocket.
What books do you recommend for the 3rd year?
I'm thinking pharmacopia and MGH red 3 ring binded small book.
Anything else?

Yeah, the Sabatine book (MGH) and Tarascons (pharmacopia) should do you well for IM and related electives.

You won't need anything further, but I would recommend Epocrates over the Pharmacopia personally. I found it faster and it had more information.

I haven't done medicine, but thus far ePocrates is all I've needed. I get free access to Essentials and I think it has a good general overview of different topics and provides all the pharm stuff you could want.
