Are pocket PCs/PDAs practical for taking notes on? I know some have the program that converts what you write into a word document, is this efficient? Is it error prone?

I would say the best way to make a PDA practical for notes is to get a keyboard that attaches to your PDA and just type directly into whatever word program it has. I cant really comment on the writing recognition programs.

I use my PDA to take notes on. I have the Tungsten C, but used either an external keyboard or graffiti to take notes with my previous PDAs. With the Tungsten C, I can punch the keys fast enough to take notes.

Use Memo Pad that's built in. You can then use the PDA 'search' function to find a topic quickly.

I take notes during rotations on my T3 (instead of index cards or whatever). I do most of them in Word To Go, which gets converted to regular Word files on HotSync. You can do color, different fonts, and perhaps most useful, you can put bookmarks in the document. The way I have it set up right now is separate documents for different subject areas/specialties, then bookmarked sections within each for more specific categories. I've also used MemoLeaf, which is sort of like enhanced Memo Pad, mostly improved sorting/filing stuff.

What I'm still looking for is a program that will let me draw next to the typed notes.
