Will taking a pod school acceptance offer hurt or negatively effect any open applications to MD schools, besides the fact that schools might question you about applying to two different programs?

I highly doubt it.....both programs share the same medical philosophy....one just happens to specialize right away

Just make sure you check out each schools admission policies if you are applying to multiple programs. Some of the pod schools with DO schools will only allow you to apply to one program at a time.

If I'm applying to MD programs that aren't affiliated with the podiatry schools, would I have any problem?

you still have to write on your application if you are applying to other health professions schools . The schools may bring it up during the interview and question you about it. It can reduce your chance of getting into MD school because it may not seem you are completely set on allopathic medicine. Maybe others can comment on this.

Podiatry is part of allopathic medicine.
