Does any podiatric resident know how to get a listing of podiatric residency programs that require graduates to pass the PM LEXIS(Boards part 3) before becoming a resident at a hospital?

Did you try calling the CRIPS? The aacpm website has a number to call CRIPS. They might know.

It is dependent on the state in which the residency is located.

Example. Pennsylvania - all Penn residents must pass NBPME 3 before matriculating. There are only a couple/few states with this requirement.

Where could I go to get a listing of states or residency programs that require passing scores for the NBPME PART 3. I tried going to aacpm.org and the CRIP page but I was unable to find any relevant information.

As mentioned by Dr. Rogers, Pennsylvania is one of the few states that require the students to be able to take the PMLexis in June and be able to pass it. I am glad to see that you are taking initiative to find out which states require PMLexis right after graduation. This is important because there are currently several programs in Philadelphia area that are missing first year residents because those students could not pass the PMLexis.

There are a few states that does not require or recognize PMLexis. Examples include New Jersey, Kentucky, etc..

There are a few states that require the residents to take PMLexis prior to graduating from the residency (whether after the first year of residency or later). These include New York, Connecticut, etc...

Previous posting recommend you to contact CASPR / CRIP for help. This agency will not be able to help you since they are application services. My recommendation is to contact current residents in programs in the various states that you are interested in applying to. They will be able to tell you if you need to take the PMLexis or not. The other option would be to contact the board of podiatry of each individual state to find out about the PMLexis requirement. As per the 2005 NBPME Part III (PMLexis) Candidate Bulletin, the following states utilize PMLexis:

AL, AZ, BC (British Columbia), CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, HI, IL, IN, IA, KS, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, Missouri, Montana, NE, NV, NH, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WI

welcome to SDN... yeah this is an old thread. lol.

I took Part III back in June. It sucked esp being right after graduation! Advice for anyone planning to take it: study more, haha.
