Just wanted to say that I think Podiatry is an incredible field. I'm about to start med-school (DO) but darn near went Podiatry at the end because of an awesome couple of weeks spent assisting a volunteer podiatrist at the clinic I work at.
We're a homeless clinic, so you might imagine we get some interesting pod. cases. I've seen a lot of toe-nail removals, done a ton of diabetic foot ulcer care. And the Podiatrist even allowed me to do a number of different analgesic injections (the wierdest was through the plantar fascia for fasciitis). Needless to say, if I wasn't so sold on some of the other medical emphases that require MD or DO to do, I'd probably be heading to DPM school this summer.
Best of luck to all of you, you've got a lot of awesome opportunities ahead.
