I've read some various other threads and I'm just hoping for some peace of mind as this has been bothering me immensely over the past few days.

I was at a party last week with some close friends and my girlfriend, who I was with all night. A random girl continued to hit on me throughout the night even though I made it clear I was more than happy with my gf. Towards the end of the night I guess she was overly intoxicated and upset and randomly pushed me down claiming that i had "groped her" multiple times throughout the party. My gf and I obviously wasn't having any of it since I was with her the entire night and knew I clearly never laid my hands on her. The random girl then got even more upset and left. No more than thirty minutes later the cops showed up asking for me as she had filed a report of groping. There were more than enough witnesses that said I did no such thing and the cop basically said her story didn't add up and she was too intoxicated to even explain what had happened but they had to file the report anyways. The next day I managed to talk to someone who knew the random girl and said that she felt bad, she didn't know what she was thinking and didn't want me to get in any trouble for her actions. So I'm assuming the case is closed, I haven't heard anything from the police since.

I've been super distraught the last few days thinking that medical schools will be able to find this and possible retract my acceptance. Considering the report was pretty much immediately closed and no charges were brought up, can I assume that this won't show up on any in-depth background check? Do I email the schools explaining my case or should I not bring something like this up assuming they wouldn't see it in the first place?

You're good. No arrest, no charge, no fingerprints, no mugshot, no bail, etc.

A police report like this is akin to someone calling 911, police coming out to check it out, and having to document that nothing warranted the call.

Just to CYA I would write down everything that transpired, the witnesses, your girlfriend's recollection of the events, your recollection of events, everything like that. If the friend you talked to talked to the girl through texts then I'd write that down as well as you can reproduce those if it ever goes to court. Better to be safe than sorry.

Quit fussing. Adcoms will never ever see this

This. I agree in that you do not need to tell the schools anything as this was just someone calling 911 and no arrest or charges were filed. That said, I would still do the above and document everything for your own sake just in case a few months, year or so down the road she tries to make a case of it then you at least have a paper trail of what happened.

You can also contact the police department and order a copy of the police report for your records.

Just like my lawyer friends told me multiple times --- DO NOT EVER talk about this unless formally charged.

Like other people said --- just because somebody filed a police report it don't mean diddly-doo to ANYONE, least of all your med school administrators.

However, I would let this incident be a warning sign to you for your forthcoming years. If you happen to be a good-lookin' guy and come from a wealthy family, then you can probably expect girls to be hitting on you at parties if she knows you're gonna have "M.D." after your name in a few years. Turning girls down in today's world can mean your name and reputation are dragged through the mud on social media for the whole world to see --- ie, Aziz Ansari
