Hey everyone- I tried navigating through the NRMP policies for rules to outside the match positions, but can't seem to find anything that isn't confusing to understand. My question is when applying to positions outside the match, what happens if you back out of contracts before the residency year would start? And I mean specifically in regards to PGY2 and above positions.
I know that for PGY-1 positions in the match if you back out after match day, it is a violation and you would be banned from future matches. Do outside of match positions (such as via residency swap) have a similar policy?
