Just curious, can a peripheral vascular interventional radiologist apply to interventional cards fellowships?

No, only person's who have completed an internal medicine residnecy followed by a cardiology fellowship can obtain an interventional cards fellowship.

It depends on what Obamacare has in store. If Obama screws over cardiology and fewer and fewer people want to do interventional work, then people from other fields can apply and get in. That's why you have vascular surgeons in IR fellowships. Why you have neurologists in NIR fellowships.

My hope is that healthcare reform will disincentivize many specialties from seeking interventional and imaging opportunities. Then radiology will regain much ground it has lost.

If that happens, we will have Cradiologists running around amuck 😀
