Hey guys so i was just wondering is it possible to apply and get accepted to Dental School if you have a By Law Ticket thats says possession of marijuana? It was a fine that was paid off but shown on the record!

I would say it depends on when this occurred along with how the rest of your application looks. If it happened a few years ago and you have good stats I say you should be fine

Or to Georgia. Couldn't be worse than DUI.

This was back when i was 18 but im 20 now! Theirs no traffic tickets or anything major like that. Im from Ontario as well.

It will hinder your acceptance chances regardless of what you actually did because it was a criminal offense. Dont focus on that because you cannot change it. Make sure your application is perfect!

I don't know, but isn't that a criminal offense? Also, I think you may need to wait 7 years before applying. I'm not a law expert. This question is way above all our heads and expertise.

I dont think its a criminal offense just a ordinary By Law ticket but maybe i should call the dentistry faculties and see what they have to say about this!

If it was not a felony or misdemeanor you do not have to report it on AADSAS. It may come up if an individual school does a thorough background check, but I wouldn't sweat it. Especially since you were 18 at the time.
