No. You are scheduled in blocks, not days. Vacation is accordingly scheduled in blocks. It would be impossible for everyone else to accommodate such an arrangement.
If you view surgical residency as a "prison" (even though, of course, you have yet to complete a single day of medical school), perhaps that's a sign you shouldn't do it!
