Hi, I just submitted my application for AMCAS and AACOMAS. I was wondering if I should apply to a post-bac program to boost my uGPA and take courses that are prerequisites that I haven't taken yet (Biochem, Ochem Lab). Do you guys think it's worth it or just a waste of money. My uGPA is kinda low, 3.4, but since I already submitted my application taking the post-bac courses won't necessarily raise my GPA for medical schools to see right?

Thanks for your time!

A few questions/thoughts

1) How well did you do on MCAT without having Biochem?
2) why did you apply with the low GPA prior to any postbacc?
3) Post Bacc now wouldn't help GPA
4) It is at least even money that you will be rejected, so consider a reapplication and thus postbacc maybe in order
5) whether DIY or formal postbacc is a whole other question
6) if you do get accepted most schools will require biochem and ochem lab for matriculation so I would suggest you need to get them for next term

1) I got a 32
2) I just took one year of Master's at UCSF and got a 4.0 (originally I thought this was a post-bac since it showed on AAMC's post-bac list)

Do you think I should do it anyways just to prepare for the reapplication phase? I think I might have a good chance in DO school though... but yes I will need to have biochem and ochem lab for some schools that I want to go to...
