What are the pros and cons of a Post-Bac and or a Master's Program?
Does anyone know any good Post-Bac/Master's Programs?

I've looked online at this list:
http://hpap.syr.edu/LISTPB.HTM

Are there any other universities besides the ones listed here that you may want to suggest?

Which schools are known for giving out higher GPAs? I went to a difficult public school where most of my classes/pre-reqs and majors that had an average grade around a C+ and I dont want to deal with that again haha.

I completed the post-bac program at Scripps college last year (04-05). It is a super small program (approx 15-17 people) and it practically has a 100% acceptance rate into health professional school. I went to UC Berkeley, so I get the whole public school thing. It's really different at Scripps, small classes, professors that are approachable, tutoring for the post-bacs, lots of attention. But I think the program is for people that have had little or no science, meaning, if you've taken all the pre-reqs already, I don't know if this is the program for you. I worked really hard in the program, did really well and got accepted to some great dental schools. Downsides: expensive private school, it's in Claremont, CA which is pretty boring (but you wont have a life anyways). good luck!

I did a masters in this program at JHU

http://advanced.jhu.edu/

It's a good program but quite costly, however, I worked there so JHU paid for it. The admission requirements are pretty easy (no GRE) and the classes are reasonably challenging.

Yes, my masters was in biotechnology and it took me 3 yrs to finish but I only did it part-time and JHU paid for most of my tuition expense because I worked for the university. The tuition has gone up significiantly since I started but one can typicially take 3-4 classes a year. I wouldn't advise taking more than two 3-credit courses in one semester. I know people who did this program full-time and finished in it 2 years.

I'm considering applying for the MS in biotech at JHU. I was wondering if you might be able to shed some light on it for me. First i'm wondering why it doesnt require an admissions test or letters of rec, and doenst require a thesis to graduate(seems kind of odd for a prestigious university such as JHU). Is the degree any different that an MS from a different university? any difficiencies? Also i'm applying to dent school right now, and was thinking of applying for the spring. I was told that it can be done in 1 yr at a full time pace...do you think its possible? has the degree been helpful in attaining jobs or getting into dental school? sorry for all the q's, i'm just trying to make an educated decision. Thanks.
