Hi guys - I have a quick question! I am taking a post bac class at a 3rd tier school. I am taking physics and currenty getting an A, however I want to take organic chem this summer at another 4 year school which is cheaper. Is this going to look bad or should I stick with one school? I am only going to take 7 classes as post bac student.

Thanks!

I think you'll be fine. Just remember to submit all transcripts.

An A in orgo at a community college will mean less than an A in that subject in your post-bacc, but doing this is something that's pretty common so it shouldn't hurt you all that much.

Hi Bond8204 - I am not taking Organic Chemistry at a community college. I am take my post bac pre-req at a 4 year college.

The thing is that the summer course is cheaper at this other school than the school i'm going to now.

I graduated 6 years ago with 2.94 gpa in enginnering and worked as an associate in the finance world for 6 years, and I want to go to med school now.

I am planning to take Physics I and II, Organic I and II in the summer, Biochem, Microbiology and Cell and molecular biology.

I am already getting an A in Physics on exams and labs, and there is 1 month left for the semester.

If I get A's in the other classes I will have about 3.1 gpa and science gpa of 3.7 ( I already took gen bio I and II (Grades: A, B) and chemistry I and II ( Grades: A, B)

AACOM gpa should be 3.3 (I calculated this using their instructions) when i'm done next year.

I am planning on taking MCATS next April (i'm studying now for physics, reading comp, Gchem and bio)

If I get 30+ on Mcats do you think I have a shot at DO school? I'm currently 29 years old.

Thanks for any help and advice!
