Hi everyone,

We were hoping to share the below research opportunities in our lab for those interested in health data science, AI/machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision:

The Hong laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco (honglab.ucsf.edu) is part of the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Bakar Computational Health Sciences Institute at UCSF and the UCSF-UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health.

The Hong lab focuses on combining clinical domain knowledge with data science to generate insights from real world data, develop actionable computational tools, and evaluate the benefit of these advances for personalized cancer care. We have a specific interest and expertise in machine learning, natural language processing, computational data extraction, and imaging analytics. We apply these methods to identify new knowledge regarding clinical practice and patient outcomes, make actionable predictions, and identify new interventions. Our lab works from end-to-end along the development and implementation pipeline to develop tools for clinicians to make a meaningful difference in patient care.

We have positions for both post-baccs, ideally suited for pre-meds who have a computational background or planning on computational/statistical grad school, and post-docs. The UCSF-UC Berkeley PhD program in Computational Precision Health is also recruiting for graduate students.

Please check out https://honglab.ucsf.edu/#positions or message with any questions!
