Hi guys. Okay so I graduate in May 2010 with a B.S. in Biology. As of now I have a 3.3 gpa, and honestly I do not anticipate it going up much higher at this point. I have not calculated my science GPA but there are a few classes that have hurt me a C+ in Physics I and a C+ in Organic Chem semester II. I want to attend medical school, but I know at this time my credentials will likely not suffice. Am I wrong in this thinking? I also have not taken a practic MCAT at all. I have however taken the GRE and I scored 950:-( (will likely retake)
Secondly, I have been looking into the post-bacc pre-med programs. However, the issue I have run into thus far is that most of these programs are for those with little or no science background. As I stated, I will have a B.S. in Biology and will have fulfilled all the pre-req courses for most med schools. I am unsure if I should continue looking into the post-bacc programs? Are there any more for academic enhancement, perhaps where I could retake these courses?
I am not sure if I should just get a masters in biomedical science or something similar. I am not sure if doing well in a post-bacc program is equivalent to doing well in a master's program? Could someone enlighten me here! please? Also info on some good post-bacc and master's programs and schools that are geared for those interested in applying to medical school. Thanks!!
