Post-Bacc vs. Masters

What are the main differences between these two and which do d-schools like to see success in more? I plan on potentially doing one of these if I have to and was wondering what all had to be done and differences between the two.

Also, I dont know if this is a stupid question, but say I get good DAT scores, get rejected from all the schools I apply to, boost my gpa in my year off so my app. looks better, would I have to retake the DAT's again or would my solid score from the previous year still hold?

first, the differens between Becc and masters is that Becc degree is undergraduate degree while master is graduate one. if you will apply with a masters it means you have a lot of advanced clasese (it will be good if u will get a masters in the sciences such as bio and chem or math).

second, if you sGPA is over 3.2, don't worry about your GPA. but, if u do worry, take advance clases in the sciences, DON'T retake classes.

third, the DAT score is good for a few years (chech the exact # of years with ADA)

I went through everything your going through... but I had to deal with this problem since last september.

I am a computer Science major (class 2004), I work for the state as a software developer and just last september (or was it late august), I decided that I.T is not for me and decided to get into medicine..... Unfortunatly for me, A masters program in a natural science was not an option (because I had taken zero biology or chemistry courses in my undergrad).....

The only way for me to get into a masters program (like biology or chemistry or the likes) is if I had taken a bunch of chemistry + biology courses.... So Masters program for me was no-go.

Anyways, due to lack of options, I went back to school (MSU) as a post-bacc majoring in Chemistry. Once I satisfy my requirements (15 credits hrs in chemistry + 20 credit hours in biology related courses) Im gonna jump ship to a masters program in Biology AND before that, Take the DAT and apply for dental schools (2009 cycle), If 2009 cycle rejects me (and they probebly will since my under grad GPA is pretty low: 3.01), Im gonna push through with my plan and enter into a masters program full time, hopfully 1 year later (when I apply for the 2010) cycle, I'll be about 1/2 way done with my masters program.

To make story short, the advantage of a masters program is that it gives you a whole new category in your GPA..... The way it was explained to me, you will have 2 GPAs, one for undergrad and other for masters.... which I believe REALLY helps those of us who did poorly in our undergrad and started bucking up in masters
