Hey everyone, I know there are probably millions of things on here about post baccalaureate programs on here, but that makes it practically impossible to search for basic info and specific questions. So I was wondering if anyone could post the link to a good thread or a good site for information.

1) Are they always just a year with a guaranteed admissions into the next years entering class or is it a masters program?

2) Also do you apply to them separate from the medical school or do they refer you to their program? I ask this because I'm interested in The Ohio State University and saw they have they MEDPATH program but I don't see where you can apply it separately.

3) I guess I'm just looking for basic information because I haven't had luck trying to find general information.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

1) Some are 1 year, others are 2 depending on the schedule. A post-bacc is different than a master's program, which is also not necessarily the same as a Special Master's Program that many medical schools have. Most post-bacc programs give a certificate, not a degree. And then some do have "linkage" agreements, while others do not have this aspect, so it's best to just check each website of the programs.

2) I would assume most applications are separate, as many post-bacc programs are not connected to a medical school. The MedPath program you mention seems different than a typical post-bacc. I have not done an SMP so I'm not familiar with that app process, so this MedPath may be more like an SMP.

Some of the information section in the Postbacc Forum is outdated, but there is basic information that is not necessarily so.

There were people there than did an amazing job gathering and posting information. Unfortunately, those people have become busy with med school, residency, and so forth. But you can use the info there, get an idea about what you may be looking for in your area, or what programs based on your needs are like by going there, getting info, and the checking that info-status with the schools' websites.

There is also the AAMC site: https://apps.aamc.org/postbac/#/index

Thanks guys, I appreciate that so much. This will really help
