I know that to a certain extent it depends on the school, but in general, do you think that a post-december interview affects your chances at all with regards to acceptances or is there absolutely no difference between a pre vs. post-december interview? On a side note, I used to think that "early" interviews were special but have since realized that their value is not as great as once thought.

Also, do you think that I would have a better shot getting into a school to which I had a pre-december interview but was not accepted in "the first round", or a school to which I interviewed at post-december?

It does because the schools will look at how many people send their deposits so they'll adjust the number of people to be interviewed based on the initial response.

but don't some schools specifically also hold a certain number of seats open for post-dec 1 interviews? i think the general idea is that most of the class is still filled by post dec 1st though. I guess after jan 15 we'll know more?

Looking at past cycles, BU, NYU and Tufts are three schools that take PLENTY of people from their post dec interviews.
I think it's safe to assume that schools with a small class size normally fill up a lot earlier than the rest.

Anyone know how Temple works?

I had a mid-Dec interview at UMDNJ and I was told that they sent out an acceptance for every seat in the class on Dec. 1. My chances of getting in were dependent on how many seats are left from those who decided not to accept the offers. So yes, it absolutely makes a difference... that is why everyone says apply early.
