I finished an interview this morning with my top choice school. It was MMI style, and they do accept thank you notes as well as letters of intent.

I know most agree it’s too early to send a letter of intent at this point. I do have ~320 hours of MA work since submitting my secondary and it wasn’t included anywhere at that point. I do also genuinely plan on attending this school if accepted.

Should I just send a thank you note and include the update there, or is it okay to send a full letter of intent at this point?

If you can gracefully mention the MA work in the TY letter, I would, especially if you are low on clinical exposure without it. Did it come up in your interviews at all?

It did come up! I just wanted to make sure they knew about it. It came up during my MMIs though, so I’m not sure how much of that is reported to the committee aside from my score on each station.

If this is a "traditional interview" station, the scoring is going to be different than a situation-based station. One can only hope that the interviewer took good notes within the constraints of reporting back to the committee.

Again, if you are low on clinical exposure and can gracefully work the MA work into your TY letter, my advice would be to do so. If it's you have lots of clinical exposure or including something about your MA position would not work in your TY, skip it.

Hi OP. It won't hurt to throw it into your thank you note for the interview, especially if you're low on clinical hours (as mentioned above). That being said, I wouldn't stress too much about it - this probably won't make a huge difference either way. Good luck!

If it gives you any sense of calm, I didn't send a single thank you note. If the interview was 1 on 1, I thanked them for their time (nothing more) at the end.
I got into more than 5 and withdrew all other.
