Came back from vacation to find a thin letter dated 12/21 from CCLCM. Any one else in this situation? The admission office insists it's better than a waitlist, but still... I feel like the runner-up on the Biggest Loser.. a ton of work and nothing but loose skin to show for it.

I received the same letter from them. I was really hoping for an acceptance but wasn't expecting it just because at the interview they emphasized that they are going to be even more cautious than last year about giving out acceptances early. In the letter, Dean Franco actually states that they will be sending out less acceptances before April 15th than it will take to fill the class (less than 32 !!!!!).....so after April 15th, I would expect there to be some movement. We'll just have to wait and see!

Yeah Dr. McKenzie said that they have only accepted like a handful of people so far. I wouldn't be surprised if most of us end up on the wait list. I interviewed 12/15 and am expecting a hold letter despite feeling fairly good about my interview. It's tough!! She also said that they had a MAD rush of applicants during the last week.. so the competition will defiintely get steeper. I guess people know about the school now (versus the last 2 years where the program was virtually a start-up).

I'll join the hold club. Just got my letter today. I interviewed end of November. Hey, I guess it's better than a waitlist 👍

does this mean that ppl post-dec are screwed? my stats are not that high and i only published 2 things (same subject though). i called and my app will get processed this week as complete.

I interviewed the first week and I got the same letter. I interviewed on September and got the Hold letter in October and I'm still waiting, so there are a lot of us on this category.

I don't think that post-december interviewees are necessarily screwed... the hold letter says that they're going to accept even fewer than 32 before April 15th, so the class won't be filled before interviews are over. They're being really careful about making sure they take the right people and they don't take too many. As for how many interview slots they still have open though, I have no idea.

I don't think that hold is really better than waitlist; it's the same thing. But the fact that they are undersubscribing before April 15th means that there might be more movement than at some other schools.
