i know there is a rejection thread but there seems to be confusion over rejections post-interview. some schools do not appear to reject immediately those people who they do not accept. others do. some have a hold for everyone not accepted. maybe we could start a list of schools that have given CONFIRMED REJECTIONS post-interviews? correct me if i'm wrong on anything or if this thread is useless.

I know for sure that University of Pittburgh and Georgetown reject people post-interview, and Johns Hopkins said they reject 1/3 of those who interview. I haven't ran into someone who's been rejected post-interview by Hopkins this year, but I've seen someone get rejected from Hopkins post-interview last year.

The list so far:

Georgetown
Johns Hopkins
Universtiy of Pittsburgh

Albany

Out of the UCs, I do know that UCSF and UCD have rejected people post-interview in previous years, while UCSD never rejects everyone post-interview--everyone not accepted goes in the "acceptable pool" aka "You'll never know till the bitter end."

Alas, gone are the days of the black and white acceptance/rejection. I think med schools have noting to lose in holding all acceptable candidates. Waitlisting everyone might drive students nuts, but it just gives them as big a pool as possible to choose from if needed. It seems to me that most schools only outright reject a small fraction of interviewees.

According to the assistant direction of admissions at Mount Sinai, they do reject people after the interview. Although I haven't seen any yet on SDN.

Well consider me the first..apparently, I'm a terrible interviewee?

Don't say that bro, you already have 2 acceptances! Besides you have a bunch of interviews at other amazing schools. Also, SDN is the cream of the crop in regards to the applicant pool. I'm sure a bunch of people got rejected too. Plus I be those on SDN that got rejected didn't post it.

does anyone know about RFU. Do they put everyone 'not accepted' on hold?

I'm not sure either. However, I did look at the Waitlist forum from the past application cycle. There were applicants that was waitlisted and eventually got accepted. there is hope!

keep showing interest in the school. update them, write letters of interest, etc. Hopefully it will catch their attention
