Hi all,

For your mentors at your medical school/home program, are you doing anything special? Hand-written thank-you note for their mentorship? A small gift? (if so, what is considered appropriate?) I'm extremely thankful for my mentors and would not have matched at my program without their help and guidance.

Thanks so much!

I just sent them an email. For my research mentor (didnt actually write me a letter but have worked with him closely) I may give small gift

Thanks for your reply. What are you thinking of getting (if its not too personal/you don't mind sharing)?

Just play it by ear, OP. If your mentor plays golf, get him/her something related to that. Or a card and a gift certificate to Wendy's AND McDonalds.
In all seriousness, just keep it simple. Chances are that you thanking them in person, will mean much much more than any gift.
