Post Radiation

    How common are post radiation esophageal obstruction or stricture in patients with throat cancer? Thanks for the help.

    The rate of esophageal stricture will vary depending on dose/fractionation, presence or absence of concurrent chemotherapy, and the location of the primary tumor, among other things.

    with modern technology (imrt), dose, chemo, etc its about less than 5-10%

    its fairly rare.
