so, has anybody read through their secondary essays after they've submitted and inwardly cringed at the stuff they've written?

i'm feeling this a lot more with the secondaries because there's not a lot of time to think through, deliberate, get other opinions, then edit like we did for our primary personal statements. i've submitted about 10 secondaries, and some of the short essays i'm looking over right now just make me feel embarrassed. like i'm thinking, who would ever want to give me an interview after reading the cheeseball salf-lauding statements i wrote? and at the time i was trying to be sincere and confident applicant. 😛

i must do better with the other half of secondary essays that i have yet to submit!

hahaha..yes...i had the serious after secondary cringe effect. I'm surprised my essays were that crappy...oh well..too late now..

I am NOT looking forward to reading over my AMCAS and secondaries before interviews. I know I will find so many things I will wish I had done differently. Ah well, what's done is done, right? I'll just forge ahead into interviews 🙂

There is one essay that I LOVED afte reading b/c I actually figured some things out about how I envision my career as I was in the process of writing it, and I tweaked it and reused it repeatedly, but there are others that make me want to puke when I read them. I also found a stupid typo and that pissed me off, but I figure I'm pretty confident in my ability to express myself, so as bad as I think some of my essays are, there are probably many more that are just awful. :meanie:
