I disagree with Tweetie... it just depends. If this is a job you've already been offered and you have a ~set start date~ sometime in June or July. (i.e. before you start expecting interview invitations) then I think you can (and should) put it down. Of course, you should be 100% certain that, short of a natural disaster or act of God, you will be doing this activity this summer.
For example, I just got a great volunteer position... I applied, interviewed, everything... I'm set to start on June 15. However, I'm submitting my AMCAS on June 12 (if all goes according to plan). I'm definitely putting down this volunteer experience on my AMCAS. It's going to be a 15hr/week experience... so you bet I'm going to put it down 🙂 But of course, I'm going to mention that I don't start until June 15.
On second thought... I might just wait till June 16 to submit my AMCAS... we'll see...
This summer is really important... so I think that whatever you plan on doing this summer you should include in yout AMCAS... as long as it's a SURE THING! It's got to be a SURE THING... otherwise... if you get to an interview and they ask about it and you have to say "oh well... that didn't really work out..." that's going to look really bad.
